Default Hard finding the perfect GS3!

With the specific budget I've got to get a Lexus, it's turning out to be kinda hard finding the one that fits the criteria. Out of 5 GS3s I found, 3 had a bad report in Carfax...the one had flood/salvage title and the other 2 were in accidents...one hit a tree and the other hit another car. I don't want a car thats been flooded or repaired already.

I did find 2 GS3s with clean Carfax records. I know I shouldn't count fully on Carfax to tell me the history of a car but its a useful resource. Tell me what you think of these.

1. 1999 GS3, Black, 50,500 miles...asking $21,900. Seems to have all the options.

2. Same as #1 but its Silver w/52,700 miles.

They seem like decent prices to me. Is buying a used Lex with 50K miles a bad idea? I don't want to spend a fortune on a newer model with less miles cuz I want the money to buy new wheels and stuff like that for the car.

There was a dealer with a 99 Silver GS3 with 36,000 miles for $22,700 but it had cloth seats, no moonroof and an am/fm CASSETTE player. If I want those lesser features I'll buy a Toyota....no offense to anyone here with those options

Thanks for putting up with all my questions here....I just want to try to fully research it before I end up getting one...if I get one at all!

Cloth seats! Man, that's car is stripped. I saw a GS35 sedan the same way. The MSRP was 27k and both were sold. They'll pay the piper when it comes time to sell it.

what body kit is that on your Lex Richie?

Do you think some type of ram air hood is cheesy on a Lex?

The Lex in my sig is not my car, I think the kit is from veilside.
A ram air on a GS, I don't think that would look good.

cloth and non-moonroof Lexus cars are pretty rare anyway.

Good 'rich person' collector item I'd think.

Probably a good candidate for stripping and turning it into a motorola cup type race car.

That had to have been a special order car. No dealer would request such a thing........and, no doubt, the former owner really got it in the shorts when he/she traded it in. What WAS he thinking????????

Wow, cloth seats in a GS. I know you can get it that way but I have never seen one in person. What a waste, did it have hubcaps and no a/c also ??

You should come down here to California. Awesome selection at cutthroat prices. However, our cars are +/- 7lbs heavier because of all the emissions crap on the car... aka the FE package (50 state emissions legal).

Why, why would anybody pay a fortune for a Lexus and then have cloth? I would not agree to call that a Lexus.
Are these cloth?

At the lexus dealership near my home there is a grean one for sale with a cloth interior, it's the same as above only the blue is greenish. It looks even worse in real live.
They haven't sold it in over 2 years.

The dealer by me also had a silver with cloth interior. I could not believe it. I did see two ES300's over the years that had cloth interiors as well. I agree, I would never consider a car such as thoughs.

Regarding buying a Lexus with over 50K miles, I say don't worry about it. I bought my GS400 over 2 years ago with 53K miles. I am now up to 84K and I have not had to put in a single cent besides basic maintenance. If the price is right, go for it.

Here is a real nice 300 with all the extras you may be interested in. You will have to travel though but would be worth it !!!!
