One side exhaust off a little bit. How to Adjust?
Hi,
I did something stupid today. the GS is with HKS cat back exhaust which is just plug and play to replace the stock ones.
when I back up to park, the passenger side muffler/exhaust hit the curb as the car is lowered. I was going very slow so I heard something hit then immediately stop and move a bit forward. The exhaust tip is not in the center of the bumper space anymore. it also seems 1/2 inch getting in compare to the passenger side. It is not matching the driver side anymore.
I get under the car. Can't seems to find any damaged. I tried to pull the whole muffler/exhaust to the position but it just bounce back to the original position. the rubber bang holding the muffler/exhaust seems can't be adjust. Other than going to a muffler shop, can I adjust it myself?
Thanks

You *may* have stretched the rubber hanger(s) a tad bit more on that one side and it's not centering anymore due to the force. Maybe try getting a new set ? Next bet would be to slightly 'bend' the metal hanger (canister) to get it aligned with the exhaust cut out hole. Just watch for clearance tolerance if you go that route to avoid vibration if close to body.

Thanks. anyone know where to order the hanger rubber band for good price? This 98 GS has been owned by me for over 12 years and has served me good. Its not big deal but I think I should fix her up.
