So I've tried doing some research and I've found some stuff on converting (or more like not converting) a non OEM equipped GS with and OEM Nav system... people say its too difficult/expensive etc.
I was wondering if it'd be a different story if I had access to a complete donor car..? I can remove/hack anything I might need for the conversion. Is it still not worth it? What parts would I need to get everything functioning again?
Another question: On a OEM unit, can I install and run a couple of aftermarket amp(s)/subs and 2 additional 6x9s? Or whats the best combination if I want: Nav, OEM CD changer and steering wheel controls, 2 aftermarket 12" subs/amps and 2 addition speakers?
Note: I also have aftermarket pioneer nav unit I can install
If this has already been covered somewhere, sorry, just point me in the right direction... Thanks

I was mainly just wondering cause I can get the parts needed for about $200. I also like the OEM look and I really want to keep the steering wheel controls and CD changer. Is there an easy way to interface an aftermarket unit to use that equipment?

From what I've read from searching both here and through other online sources, it's not possible to keep the OEM steering wheel controls when upgrading to an aftermarket receiver. The CD changer "may" be possible, but since I rarely ever use CDs anymore, I didn't look into it further.
