Post Soon to be Lexus owner

Hello all, I'm looking to purchase a 98, 99 or 00 GS3. I live in Alexandria, Virginia. I've been looking at Toyota and Lexus dealerships, Carmax. Do any of you have any good advise on where I should buy a used Lexus and do you have any suggestions on any local dealerships that I should check out? Also, what are some of the things I should do when I test drive the GS300?

Thanks for all your help. BSMUV

Welcome to CL! If you search around, many newcomers have asked the same questions. Good luck!

I decided to buy my GS3 from a Lexus dealer because I figured they would extend more courtesy to me if I ran into problems or needed favors. I was correct, my dealer has done the following for me under warranty even though the car is over 50k miles. Don't be afraid of the things I had done, I am extremely picky about my car !!

1. New front brakes and rotors installed - Free
2. New FREE valet key
3. Replaced carpet clip for floormat that involved a trim shop.
4. Replaced sidemarker bulb for free before I found CL.
5. Sold me new 6 disc mag for changer for $21.00
6. Repainted all the lower plastic panels due to discoloration
7. Replaced both front headlamp housings due to condensation
8. New ashtray due to chipping paint
9. 60k service for $250.00 out the door
10. Diagnosed poor am/fm reception problem
11. New free floormats for front and rear
12. Several annoying rattles were also taken care of

I know I am missing some things but they have really done alot for me that most dealers would tell you to go pound sand for. Anyway, I also purchased the car for wholesale because I had cash there and then !!! That always helps !!
