Question timing belt 6 years?

I'm thinking of buying a 99 SC400 and the owner told me that timing belts need replaced after 60,000 miles or 6 years.
I've never heard of the 6 year rule.
I've got a 99 GS400 and I believe it has been about 6 years.

Have you guys ever heard of the 6 year rule?

Thanks
Ivan

No such thing as a 6 year rule. Generally, these parts will wear more so due to mileage, not age. You should be fine until you hit the 90k mark.
