I recently purchased a 2002 gs300. Car runs great, just have 1 issue, which would be a faint popping sound when I take off from a stop (sounds like as if you were pecking on the door with your knuckle). I asked a friend about this, and I was told that maybe the axle needed greased. I am not thinking that it is anything major, because the car runs really good, however I'd like to have a second, third, fourth, etc. input.
Agree with TI II. Ball joint failure is common on these cars. Going to replace mine on my day off.. even if this isnt your issue you should replace them if their stock and get it out of the way
