Hey guys, my GS isnt my daily but I noticed today that my idle was abnormally low. My AC Comp is out I dont know if that has to do with anything. Took a vid of it. What do you guys think?

I need to change my valve cover gaskets so I'll take a look egr and the IAC. I know its not the TB as I just cleaned it with brake cleaner like a month ago. Thanks man I'll report back.

If anything your previous state was actually a problem for having a high idle. It could've been because you just cleaned the Throttle Body, so now the car is working more efficiently and can stay running at a lower RPM without dying.
If the engine seems like it starts searching for RPM or starts to stall out, then you actually have a "problem". Otherwise why would you want a higher idle? Your car is just wasting fuel for idling higher than it needs to to in order to stay running.
Why a month later? It could also be a combination of a better tank of fuel than your previous tanks, and cleaned out the fuel system, or the computer catching up to the cleaned throttle body.

you can unscrew the 2 screws on the throttle position sensor and slightly slide it counterclockwise to lower the idling. It may take 2 or 3 adjustments to get it where you want it.

Dude are you kidding me? NO, DO NOT JUST UNSCREW THE TWO SCREWS ON THE TPS SENSOR LOL!!!! theres a bit more to adjusting your tps sensor than just by "eye balling" its voltage... this isnt a carb bud, you have to calibrate the tps sensor with correct voltages, checking the pedal position sensors ohm's and the tps sensor should then be calibrated to its corect VDC... DO NOT LOL!!! do this by "ear" that was the worst advice ive heard ever, esp for one that isnt experienced..
I havent been worrying about the idle, it doesnt feel or sound like its gonna stall.

Lexus GS300 Low Idle SOLVED
Hi guys,
I have a 2006 Lexus GS300 and last year I started having a problem with low idle intermittently. This year I noticed that everytime it was warm and humid, my GS started to idle around 500 RPM. I can't even remember how many times I've seen the Check Engine, Check VSC warning lights this year. I used a code scanner and found codes for either the Powertrain Idle Control System p0505 or random engine misfire codes whenever the RPMs dropped around 500. The Good News is that most likely it's not a carbon buildup problem, which is the actual problem on a lot of cars. Actually, let me correct myself. it is a carbon build-up problem but the build up is on your electronic throttle body. A simple $11 can of throttle body cleaner will fix the problem. BUT and it's a Kim Kardashian type of butt, the electronic throttle body is very expensive and there's been reports all over forums that people have broken their throttle bodies while trying to clean them. Knowing this, I took every possible precaution under the moon and video recorded the entire process. The good news is that I SOLVED THE LOW IDLE PROBLEM FOR GOOD! The bad news is that the video is 20 minutes long, and if you don't watch the whole thing, you're probably going to miss out on an important step.
Check out my Youtube channel for this video plus many other Lexus repair and service tips that I accumulated over the years. My Lexus is running in tip top shape with no Check VSC driving me crazy anymore.
