Wow good find, the first one I have seen yet on Ebay. The main part that you didn't mention was that it is a v300  . Hmmmm, buy it now for $27k...

wonder if he'll take a direct trade?

but that car is still in Japan. I don't know if the seller knows the details of shipping and getting it street-legal.....

Yeah thats what I was thinking. He said the car is already street legal for the U.S. Maybe in the two month shipping waiting period he will have the conversion done in Japan

It actually doesn't take THAT much to US street legalize it. My friend is an RI and says the average conversion runs him about $7k. He makes the front & rear bumpers, etc... meet US safety standards, sends the car out to Ann Arbor, Michigan for Official Dyno Tuning... I don't think emissions will be a problem since the '97/ '98 Supra turbos passed emissions('96 sticks didn't, autos made it every year) and they didn't even have VVT-I like their J-spec counterparts did. As long as this guy takes care of the conversion fees(as it appears he has/ will) then this is an AWESOME deal, otherwise he is false advertising.

I think that guy just thinks its legal because there's GS300/400/430 in US, so it's the same car and must be legal. And I don't think he has included the conversion fees along with the documentation cost.

no because US law allows RHD vehicles. It's just that no one makes them that way

That's not required for U.S. street-use. There are RHD vehicles currently running around the US.

For daily driving RHD would give some problems, LOL, but it is a bit special too.

In a few weeks Guam will have the first Aristo V300 TT. One of the Lexus technician recent went to Japan to get training on the 2004 RX330 purchased a 98 Aristo TT for about $20K with some modification already done to the car. If he is able to get it to Guam it should be very easy getting it to US.

Will be quite interesting seeing a right hand steering car.

Maybe one way is to purchase the Aristo from Japan, ship it to Guam, register it with motor vehicle and then ship it to US.

Chu...

A '98 GS300 with mileage like that(11k miles[18k km]) and all those options would retail for around $25,000. This guy has a buy it now of $27,000(although the car will most likely sell for less). That means for $2k you get the 2JZ-GTE VVT-I(which did not even come on the '97-'98 US spec Supra turbos) and bypass installation costs!!!!! $1400 from there and that car is hitting 430RWHP  As far as the US street conversion goes if he has not already done it he should plan on doing so because if someone purchases the vehicle he could be legally forced to pay for it.
