need a new engine whats better to do get a jdm 2jz ge or possible a gte engine

How much money do you have?

Do you have to pass emissions?

The engine is the cheapest part. It's the install and all the extras that are pricey. A GTE's not just a drop in. If you installed an Aristo GTE without the turbo's you'd be way down on power compared to a JDM GE anyway.

The smartest thing it probably to pick up a JDM GE and just install it. It should mostly just work (use the USDM ECU). I'd probably swap over all the USDM specific bits.

Looks nice. Cheaper than doing a head gasket.

I'd say it's time for you to do some research then. Might be better off talking to your shop first and finding out if they know what needs to be done. I'm going to guess you'll need to swap the whole engine harness over.
