Has anyone recently updated their navigation on the hard drive for a 99 gs400. I have 2 free upgrades according to Lexus (until the basic 4 yr/50k warranty expires) and the latest update was available, I believe, on Sept/Oct. of '02. I tried to order this from my dealer but he keeps saying that he is having trouble getting a confirmation from Lexus?? I left the parts manager a message last week and they still haven't gotten back to me?!!!

Is this update no longer available?

I recently got an update @ mission viejo lexus for my 99 gs300. i cant remember if the map info says sept. or oct. '02.

Updates under warranty are 3 for 98 and 2 for 99. I don't know about later models.

I just got my third (Sept 02) under warranty after almost 5 years. I complained to the Lexus central number that I had been misled by the dealer who told me 3 but did not tell me about the 4 year warranty period limitation. Lexus has never put this in writing any where I have seen, but they confirmed it on the phone.

I just spoke with Lexus HQ. I was told these updates are between the dealer and the buyer established on the original contract. Anybody get a similar response?

Those that have had it done was it done with your selling dealership?

99 Lexus GS 400 owners are entitled to 2 free upgrades before the basic 4 yr-50k warranty runs out. It doesn't matter where you purchased the car, as long as the car has not already had the 2 upgrades and you are within the warranty period. Lexus Headquarters can verify what has been done to the car with regards to Nav. updates by your VIN #.

Finally after much prodding, my dealer got the upgrade from Lexus and will be installing it this week.
