Should I get this GS300?
2000 Black on Black @128k or 138k for 7.5k
I seen pictures of the car and its in excellent condition, inside and out. My cousin just sold his GS for 6.8k or around there @148k I think, it was silver and black interior.
Clean title of course.
Only thing not stock is the rims as far as I can see. I'm meeting up with the owner this weekend and if things go great, it'll be my first gs300.
Any opinions?

It's in california and yes, the timing belt and water pump were done @120k I think.
Ball joints shouldn't be that much if they do look bad.
I'm going to try to push it down to 7 hopefully.

Haha.
Yeah but if you think about it, that's at least 15k a year while the 2000 is around 10k a year. What style was your gs300? The $2,700 difference is nice but doesn't California tend to be more expensive than New Jersey? Plus I'm shooting for $7,000 tops, but I know I can get it for $7,500 if it comes down to it. We'll see, anything less than 7k is nice.
Anyone with the skills of negotiation can help me?

A clean black/black GS w/ service records is def. worth $7000 .

For perspective, I paid $11,300 for a 2002 Lexus GS300 in July 2013. While the price may seem a tad high, this was a one owner local car with all dealer service records with just 83k (very low miles for a 2002). The car is in perfect condition and had new tires, brakes, spark plugs and battery. Dealer was asking $13,000, but the salesperson was a close friend so I got a fair price without having to haggle. The previous owner traded it in a brand new Mercedes E-class. Funny thing is a few months later he was in the dealership and was asking about his GS300. Said he regretted trading it in and should have kept it :-)

Really? I dont understand how you could just replace the ball joint when it is part of the control arm assembly for the GS3. Can you show me a link? I just did this job last month.

be sure you drive it and pay attention to the suspension. Do some steering wheel wiggling/deadspace, some slalom moves, and shaking around 60-70mph.
The car is 14years old, just be aware of what you are getting into and if the suspension is acceptable to you.
The seller may say, oh you just need to replace this or that and will get rid of that suspension problem, but in practice with this car, getting the suspension issues resolved is sometimes a money pit and endless rabbit hole.
If you can, go testdrive a new 2013 lexus or even a new toyota before hand just to understand what a new modern car feels like.
