Default Front license plate frame - leaves holes in bumper?

I am contemplating the purchase of a GS400 which is registered in a state that requires a front license plate. My state does not require a front license plate. After the front license plate frame is removed, are there visible holes left in the front bumper? If so, does anyone have pictures of what it looks like after removal?

It looks REALLY REALLY bad.

You need to fill the holes and repaint or get a new bumper or leave the plate on.

I filled the holes with primer, hand sanded everything around there very carefully, and used touch up paint over the holes. I'm kinda happy with the results, although its not perfect. Also, I did this 2 years ago and everything's still holding up well.

Thanks for the quick responses and the picture.

Unfortunately that would be a deal breaker for me. The search narrows to states that do not require a front license plate frame (or owner is as thoughtful and crafty as rominl.

The search narrows....yet continues. This has nearly become an obsession after I spent a day in/around DaveGS4 and Dex's GS4's...lol

Lightbulb Floating front lincense plate

Like ROMINL said,

My soultion is to have the lincense plate stay with front nose bra cover.

Whenever the bra is on, the lincense plate will be there with it !

The delimma is--- must to take it off before car wash !
--- put it back on is another story !

Texas requires everyone to have a front license plate, but most dealerships give you the option to leave it off. I don't see why they wouldn't do the same if you requested that it not be put on.

Good Luck!!

Get or make an L bracket. Attach underneath bumper. Glue rubber spacers to back of license plate. Attach license plate to L bracket. Spacers protect bumper.

Unhappy never get it punctured!

just keep the front licence plate between the seat and center console, if you ever get pulled over, just slide it onto the dashboard and do it slick, you might get shot if the cop thinks your reaching for a gun, but hey thats still better then putting holes in you bumper, ouch! mine was lucky enought to make thru alive when it was bought by its original owner. dont do it!

They're small but still make the frontend look like crap....
I took my plate off before I went to get my bodykit installed.. Just incase if they wanted to put it on the front after they put the kit on..

i think i got them at pepboys or some auto store. they come in lots of sizes, so you might just get a bunch and see which ones fit. they look like stubby nails with big heads.
