aaah! nooo! my prized GS4, my baby! i turned on my car today and suddenly smelled somethin like burning plastic! and to add to that my radio dont work no more! what happen?! somehow i think the smell and the radio are connected to each other....anyone know wassup with my car?

yah...your radio is fried.

btw anyone know how to replace the head unit? its all theft deterrent and stuff

I replaced mine and the "theft deterent" stuff was never an issue. Take out the old, plug in the new and it turns right on.
To remove it, pull the vents out from above the climate control system, and pull the ashtray.
You will find a few screws and that's about it.
The rest is common sense.

hmm, have you guys replaced your head unit with aftermarket ones? if so i need to know what stuff other than the head unit i need.

Personally I don't like the aftermarket look in a GS, especially since most of the dash kits that are fabricated look like a$$. You can get the radio repaired at >> http://carstereohelp.com/lexus.htm . It will probably cost you over $300.00 !! If you wait you can find the radio on e-bay. I bought one for $140.00 a few weeks ago and it looked brand new. Hope this helps
