I have second thoughts of buying GS. I don't know whether it is more worthwhile to buy Audi A4 1.8T Cabrio than GS300. Both are roughly the same price. Audi Cabrio is newly released to the market (2003) whereas GS is already quite old. I know it is not fair to compare Cabrio with sedan but those are my choices. Both are gorgeous car in their design. Ahh , I'm so confused !!
Please share your input or comment. Thanks alot.

Hello. Ya can't go wrong w/either choice. The Audi A4 Cab. is a beautiful car. Solid & well built. I knowa client that drives one & he let me take her for a spin. Great convertible that gets alot of attention. It felt very planted w/lots grip in the corners jus like the A4 sedan.Jus wait the A4 cab. is not going anywhere soon. You may wanna wait cus the new GS will be released 04 around May as a 05' model. It may well be worth the wait.

I would agree that the GS is starting to feel old. Almost like the dies that make the car are starting to wear a little and the car just isn't as tight as it should be.
I also would say that the Audi would normally be a tighter more solid car. However since you are looking at a cab, it might not be that way.
You are however looking at two cars that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You need to decide what you really want - the fun in the sun or the ability to take three friends out in a nice quiet luxury ride (and not have the two in the backseat hate you forever).

Buy the Lexus GS for sure. I've sold cars and trucks and owned my own dealership for over 30 + years and can tell you without a doubt that the Lexus is head and shoulders above the Audi. Here are just a few reasons why:
1. Resale Value.
2. Resale Value.
3. Resale Value.
4. Quality.
5. Quality.
6. Quality.
Best Regards,
Bob

Well, without knowing your reason's for comparing these two cars, it will be difficult for the boardmembers to really weigh in on this one. I have a friend who ones an A4 sedan that I have driven quite extensively and can tell you the fit and finish as well as the general interior design of the Audi is very nice. However, in comparison to the GS, there is very little in regards to interior room(prolly less so with convertable) and a drop top is going to be much more prone to creaks and rattles than the GS. The Audi is gong to be more prone to repairs than the GS, but they have improved markedly in this area of late. How long are you going to own? Buying or leasing? Have you driven either car? I would really visit why it is you need a new car and that should answer your question pretty quickly.
Fun in the sun and looks= Audi
Size, features, resale etc.= GS

Your two choices are basically on opposite ends of the spectrum of car choices.
First, one is a convertible and the other isn't...
One is a sedan, the other a 2+2 barely...
One is a luxury cruiser, the other a sportier car...
One handles like a luxury cruiser, the other handles better...
One has better quality in the long run, the other has good quality but unknown longevity...
One is a 5 year old design, the other is freshly redesigned...
One is a v6, the other a turbo v4...
Since I don't know you, pick the one you feel suits you now...
Hope this helps...
Both are good cars. The Lexus is the safe, conservative choice and the Audi is the more flashy choice. Good luck!

Well, my logic dictates:
a 24-44k FWD/AWD 1.8 liter 1-4 turbo<42k-55k RWD I-6
I dunno just me. I like how the new A4 sedan looks, I really like it a lot actually. The vert is a lil square to me but still a very classy and nice design. I like Audi's great cars but no experience with one?
Where is Ming?
And enough with the NEW GS speculation, no one KNOWS DIDDLEY SQUAT. However, there should be an A4 coupe and a Passat coupe coming soon.

If size doesn't matter and if you want to mod out the car, get the A4 1.8T Quattro.
My co-worker has an A4 1.8T Quattro and he modded it out to the extreme. Dropped it, 18" wheels, humogous brake discs, swapped the stock turbo to a huge turbo. Not a lot of low ends but top ends is a screamer. You can't hang with this car at all in corners and curves. A few of the drawbacks are it's SMALL, he has no warranty on the car since everything is aftermarket and/or modded, forget long drives on this care because it's rough and tight.
If size, comfort, and reliability is an issue and you don't plan on making too much modifications, the GS is a better option. Even if there is a new generation GS coming next year, there will always be something new over the horizon.
