I just bought a 02 GS300 and the RPM gauge light doesn't go on and it's bugging me I took it to a shop they told me they can't change the bulb that it might not be the bulb idk what it is idk what to buy to fix it doesn't anyone have a idea am I suppose to get is a bulb or these electroluminescent light just need some help thanks

It's a cfl, they are irreplaceable I've never heard of just one going out, usually they both go out, take it apart and inspect it, my guess is it's shot and u need new gauges...

Can't you find a cheap cluster and take the CFL bulb out of it? If not time for LED upgrades then. I'm not a fan of the CFL bulbs personally because when it's pretty cold (32F) out the bulbs aren't so bright until the cabin warms up.

How would I do led upgrade do I just put new led light outside the cluster to just shine light into to or do i take out the cluster and solder new led somewhere?

It can't be done, but a new cluster and call it a day, save yourself a MASSIVE headache and money
