On my last timing belt replacement, one sprocket moved a notch when I put the belt back on. I didn't notice it, but a buddy of mines did. Thank God! I would've double checked anyway, but still.....

nope, all Toyota timing belt motors are non interference other than the 1uz and the 3uz v8 motors.
This is interesting. I used to have a 01' GS430 that had a timing belt break on me. 9 valves were bent. I found that out when I had put everything back together with a new belt. I had called around a few Lexus Service centers and talked to a handful of Lexus/Toyota experts because I was getting mixed information, and they all told me the same thing. Only the UZ engines are interference engines and not the 2JZ.
^ You are the first person that I know of who had that belt snap on them. These belts are damn near teflon. How many miles did you have when it snapped???
