Newbie alert. Just joined today.
I purchased my first Lexus, THEN found out about CL. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the car and price. Wish I would have had you as a resource PRIOR to the purchase, but here we are.
1998 GS400
91,000 miles
-no heated seats-
i believe the wheels are upgraded....haven't seen them much in pics on CL or ads
antique bronze mica
1 owner car, and it is CLEAN., especially for being a Wisconsin car
the Timing Belt and Water Pump have NOT been done, but "i've gotta guy" (ASE mechanic) at a Lexus dealership who is a "$50/hr. cash and you get my discount on parts". he's quoting me $550 for the timing belt and water pump with genuine Lexus parts (installed)
i wanted a daily driver with some horsepower and luxury. i couldn't be more happy; picked it up a week ago.
my concern is i have some slight headtrash about having possibley overpaid after cruising CL.....again, this car is insanely clean and well taken care of for being a 1998 and 1 owner. the car is completely unmolested with not one mod.
i paid $5800 through the dealer.
thoughts?
be gentle. it's my first time.

Great car! Definitely take it!!!!! Looks in GREAT condition. Fully stock and easy to work with. Easy to maintain. Low miles, great color, nice wheels ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
.... Don't let it get away bro!!!! Not to mention the price is MORE then reasonable! Assuming everything seems fine upon test driving.

Congrats, nice car. The price on the timing belt seems good. Getting a GS400 with lower miles is really like getting a new car in my mind. Change the lower ball joints too, lots of guys recommend Moog, stamped 555, made in Japan. I have those wheels, I believe they were an upgrade option. Get used to speeding tickets, I've had 4 this year. When you look at what you bought for $5800, you'll be more amazed every time you drive it.

wheel are not an upgrade. The 400's came with the 17's. I love those rims, thus the reason why I got the chrome version for my 02. I think that's a fair price based on mileage. My 02 had 74k on it in 2011 when I purchased. I paid $12 cash for because the previous owner had a super long paper/maintenance trail. Also go to lexus drivers .com, enter your VIN to see work that was done on it at any dealer in the US.

1QWKGS4,
"...but for a low miles one" is a big statement. As we all know, cars age by miles, not by years. So the fact that this car has low miles on it brings the market value up.
