Default Blew out my head gasket..

My GS has really gone the distance, but I recently blew my head gasket. Now Im just wondering if I should just get the head replaced for around a grand, or just get a newer used engine with much less miles for around $1,200.. The shop selling the engine lists the mileage at 96,000 for a 2JZ, but theres no way to verify that... any ideas on what would be the best option??

Yeah thats what I was leaning toward.. a new GTE would give my ride new life.. Im not sure how much it'd be to repair/ remachine the head but probably close to half the cost of a engine swap

i have never done a gte swap but from what ive read on here its upwards of 4 grand to my understanding.
i got my head machined reinstalled new valves new headgsket and everything that goes along with doing the headgasket for 1100.
but if i had the wallet i too would say to hell with the ge and start looking for a gte swap.

im always weary about used engines. you cant hear them run you cant tear them apart to look inside you pretty much have to go by the word of the owner thats why i say wither fix the head you have or gte that bad boy.
