Hey guys. I just sold my 911 Turbo and now I'm back in my GS 100% of the time again. Its needs some TLC as I've neglected it a bit because of my side chick (the 911)... getting back on CL and getting her back in prime shape.I'm going to put my details below but first I have a quick question. I need the FRONT upper control arms Lexus 48630-39055 and 48610-39085 for the car and I don't want to drop $350.00ea for New Toyota OEM. Can anyone recommend a good after rmarket supplier for this part? I also need tie rods. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly apprerciated. Thanks.
My stats:
1. Exterior Color- Diamond White metalic
2. Interior color choice- Tan and Toupe combo.
3. Major Options or special packages-L-Tuned body kit. L-Tuned suspension kit. L-tuned exhaust (the nice stainless steel ones with stainless exhaust tips) and of course the very RARE L-tuned badges on back and sides!
4. Audio Options - Mark Levenson.
5. Any modifications- Replaced the driver seat leather with Lexus Original leather along with the console lid. Looks amazing.
6. Anything you want to mention- LOVE THIS CAR. BOUGGHT IT NEW AND IT HAS BEEN GREAT EVER SINCE (150K miles later).
7. If you are INTERNATIONAL, state which city/country your representing!- I'm from the Dallas-Ft Worth metropolitan area. Home of Sewell Lexus! They rule on parts.
8. Post pics or links to your car (you can upload pics in our gallery)
I recently imported 2001 Toyota Aristo from Japan, my first Lexus (yipee)
Currently it's completely stock (minus wheels & body kit). I plan to keep it relatively stock as this will be my daily driver.
I'll be raising the height a bit before winter (Canadian winters suck!) otherwise I'll become the next Mr. Plow
Below are some pics, I look forward to learning from everyone on this forum, it's full of great knowledge.
Super nice car, lucky for you the Import laws are much much better in Canada. Anything less than 25 yrs old are not allowed and still have major customs issues. Congrats.

Thanks for the compliment DW!
Yes, we're very fortunate here in Canada where the vehicles only require to be 15 years (or older) to land.
Once landed, and out of province inspection is completed, we are free to go
Where does everyone buy their GS parts from?
I'm trying to source a set of GS300 coilovers (Tein Street Basis Z) but they're really expensive locally.
Hey my name is Josh. I have a 2003 GS300 silver exterior and grey interior. I currently have 160k miles and my only upgrades are a pioneer double din headunit and a set of 18's off of a 2011 GS450h.
Picked up my first Lex at a steal (I think) under 3K: a 98 GS300 Base +6CD & chromes, 1 owner, 100% serviced at Lexus its entire life at Tustin Lexus. The original leasee ended up purchasing the vehicle. Now has just over 211K. I've got a few minor things to fix and improve: small dings and dents, front and rear bumper imperfections, headlight cleaning, radio replacement (LCD gone), driver seat reupholster/replacement, steering wheel telescoping motor greasing. Day 2 I tinted windows at 5% all around. Day 4 passed smog in CA without any issue, other than the tech thinking the exhaust manifold was actually a header set. No current leaks, issues or other problems!
First-time Lexus owner here. Just got a silver 2002 GS 430.
I look forward to participating in this forum, and I'm sure I'll need to pick your brains on a whole lot of things lol.
I have been the proud owner of a Metallic silver GS300 1998 model since 2004. I acquired it with just 70,000kms on the odo and in all this time, have only pushed up the odometer to 120,000kms. My Lexus was one of the first imports to South Africa, and came fitted with rear spoiler and two way sunroof. In the time that I have had it, I have only had to perform normal routine maintenance tasks (including the expensive plug replacement and timing belt). Two weeks ago, I noticed that the water pump was leaking from the bearing. I took a photo of my licensing papers and went off to the parts department to get a new one. At the time, it looked right, but after stripping the aux belt etc, and taking off the old water pump, realized that the new one was not the same. The first one cost me only $50, but now I am told that the correct pump will cost me in the region of $310.
How do I determine my car's engine series? From the Vin No or the Engine No? And what do I look for, to make sure that I am in fact getting the right part.
Hey guys,
my name is jona and I'm a proud owner of 2nd generation 1998 Lexus Gs300 black in Brisbane Australia.
i really need help from Car enthusiasts in Australia. I need your assistant or advice please. For the first time today I was pulled over by a highway patrol copper on a school zone at school time but not because I was speeding but due to the width of my Rims....
He gave me a fine coz its too wide for my car...didn't care about any other car doing over 40Kms at school zone but instead followed me around till I stopped at a mart.
Any suggestion instead of changing it back to standard rims!?just had a newborn 3 weeks ago so I don't really wanna spend too much money on body kits...would a fender flares do the job to clear off from getting more tickets !?my tyres and rims are out by about 10m from the bodywork..
your time to this matter is really appreciated.
Hey everyone I guess it's time to start posting instead of lurking around. I'm jump chassis s14 to GS430. I live in Monterey, CA.
Just bought a GS430. Not in my hands yet but every soon. Can't wait to messing with a new chassis. Also pardon my English/Typing. Sometimes it doesn't work...
Few things about me. I'm a racing instructor, worked for Skip's Barber, do personal instructor, demo drivers for a few company. Trying to keep living the dream it's hard. My specialist is driving technique. Overlooked when it comes to racing. Anyone that looking for some help with there driving please feel free to hit me up. I'm always down to help.
Here's so of my old stuff when my student let me have fun in his E90 m3. =D
So I've come to this chassis to basically to be more adult about it all and to get away from the drifting kids. Wanted something that was FR setup and had some power already. I'm done with motor swapping and dealing with smog stuff here in CA. Also looked for something reliable. I've was about to do 1uz swap into my s14 but got hit a few months before that I started the swap. So I know my way around UZ family at least. So this car I wanna make it a DD that I can do some drift events maybe if I get the weight down enough autox.
I will say I hate the 350z 2 seater car that weighs 3.4k.... That is dumb. Makes no sense and well there not many other cars that fit this criteria.
My list of mods gonna do is redoing the whole sound system. Haven't done too much research on it but there I know there more room than my last car for good sound staging. I have about 3k in sound stuff in my garage waiting to go into the car.
Weight reduction looks like from the small research I've been doing there's a lot to save even before going for the sound deadening. From basic bolt-on and off 230 not bad if I could get it close to 3.4k I'd be totally happy. We'll see what happens.
Suspension well pretty much everything I can do it I'll probably do it. This is will be fun to me.
Also down the road some ecu tuning. I see there stuff to do here. I want to keep it NA.

silver exterior, black interior
my audio is the regular pioneers but those speakers are seriously pretty good for stock speakers
no modifications yet
but I do have a problem right now and that is my master cylinder which is failing and my transmission wont shift to 5th. its a bummer but i'd at least want to know my options on fixing these
I suppose I may as well make a first post -
I just picked up my first Lexus about a month and a half ago to replace my daily beater Accord. It's an 02 GS300; bought it with 210k, now 213k. I was able to snag it for next to nothing, as it was running funky and leaking coolant. However, it's been dealer maintained and the interior is damn near perfect. The PO actually had all ball joints replaced and 4 tires put on the car a month before I bought it. The coolant leak was a deteriorated water pump gasket; the poor running was due to a bad VVTi solenoid. Since towing it home, I did the timing belt/water pump/idler pulley, replaced the solenoid, and did some overall maintenance (oil/filter, pads/rotors, air filter, cabin filter, bunch of random bulbs).
As for specifics:
1. Millennium Silver
2. Grey
3. Base; No nav, not sport design
4. Pioneer audio, now replaced
5. Pioneer h/u, Kicker front and rear speakers - slowly acquiring suspension parts
6. Really liking this big comfy couch of a car
7. Located in Baltimore, MD
I'm used to smaller vehicles (recent rides include a 91 Accord and 16 Fiesta ST; I also currently have an 87 Yota Pickup), and I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this big ol sedan. Really happy with the GS so far
