Default New user, just purchased my second Lexus

Hello everyone, my name is Mike and I just purchased a 2000 Lexus GS400 Millennium Edition. It's been 7 years since I've had a Lexus (my first was a 2004 IS300) and it feels good to be back in one.

1. Exterior: Crystal Pearl White
2. Interior: Ivory
3. Major Options or special packages: Millennium Edition - black badging, perforated leather seats, special door sills, rear spoiler, heated front seats, headlight washers, auto-leveling HID headlights
4. Audio: Nakamichi
5. Any Modifications: No, unless you count window tint, LED cabin bulbs or ceramic coating.
6. Anything you want to mention: It is all original with paperwork for servicing with a clean history/title. It has been a local car it's whole life.
7. If you are INTERNATIONAL, state which city/country your representing: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

The day I picked it up after ceramic coating - June 12, 2020

Car is almost perfect, especially being a 20 year old Edmonton car.

Exhaust is very quiet on this car. Completely bone stock.

Some condensation inside the passenger headlight. Haven't decided whether to repair or replace.

Default My 1st GS

How y'all doin?!

Long time member/Supra and SC owner here, finally got my first GS. Picked it up in VA, drove it down to FL where it now resides. I had been baby-sitting my friend's swapped GS for almost the last year, and I guess the GS bug bit me!

Color is VW Fuchsia
02 GS300 Sport Design
The system will be installed in the next week or so hopefully. So far I've only swapped out the factory Nav for a Pioneer single din and JDM AC control.
Current mods include custom head and tail lights as well as custom trunk spoiler (don't quote me on this, this is what I was told upon purchase). Vlusty Jewel side skirts and rear bumper. Front bumper seems to be some sort of Aimgain mash-up with a Vertex grill. Wheels are original Volk TE37s 19x9/10 +25 with 1 inch spacers all around. Fortune Auto Coils.
I've owned 3 MKIII Supras, 3 swapped SC300s, and currently also own a 2018 Camry and 09 335.

Future plans for this include custom audio, different wheels, GTE swap, and possibly a color swap. I've been getting mixed feedback about the color...most of which is surprisingly positive.

After I raised it up 1"

Day after I picked it up

Sport Design Interior

First wash

On the way from VA to FL

Like I said, this is my 1st GS, so I don't know much about this platform other than what parts are interchangeable with the SC/Supra...hence my return to the forums!
I appreciate any help/suggestions/recommendations for future plans for this car. I've already ordered some suspension parts in an effort to "flush" the "stance" since it is my daily, and I'm not a fan of the stance/camber styling.

Thanks for looking

Welcome to the forum Howie! Look forward to seeing you get a build thread going on this when you start sinking your teeth into it. The VW Fuchsia does look pretty good on the GS.

Cheers,
Slow

Default New Guy

Hi all,

I recently scored a 2003 GS300 Sport Design with, get this, 57K miles from original owner! This thing has been garage kept the entire time with very little wear and tear. First few upgrades will be headunit, possible Nav combo or I might just take my Garmin Nuvi 2797 and use it as a separate but this car is sweet. Just a couple minor exterior blemishes plus a couple of wheel dings. Been poking around the forums for a few days and this place is LOADED with info. Well done all. Here’s the specifics I’ll add some pics after I get it detailed.

1. Exterior Color: White

2. Interior color choice: Tan

3. Major Options or special packages: Sport Design

4. Audio Options: Not Levinson, dash says Lexus Premium Sound. Component front speakers (mid bass and tweeter in door), 2 door rears plus a back sub by the looks of it. I’ll have to determine the exact type before upgrading.

5. Any modifications: Completely stock

6. Anything you want to mention: I’ve owned a 99 300RX

The manufacturing info states this car was built in Japan! Not sure I’d that’s normal for year and model but it just oozes quality. The maintenance book has been kept up to perfection. Not a single maintenance missed, ever! I got really lucky on this car and looking forward to keeping it many years.

Take Care...

PS: funniest thing I saw posted here was some dude a couple years ago asking about head unit replacement and if anyone had ever done it? I was like DUH, someone responded with “no, never. Please be the first so we can all figure it out”. 😂

Default Pics of 2 owner 1999 GS400

I'm a new member to this form I recently purchased my second Lexus GS400 in my opinion one of the greatest cars ever made. I bought my first GS400 99 back in 06 I sold it in 09 and I regret it getting rid of it so I found a one owner local trade right outside of Atlanta Georgia and I want and picked it up and I'm grateful I did. Lots of information on this site. I'm learning my way around.

I drove to Roswell GA to buy this 1 owner trade from Nalley Lexus Dealership. Its been served there from day 1. Im grateful to have it. Completely stock and unmolested other than rims, a little paint work, 180k. I am going to do some upgrades, Lighter new rims , ect. I will add more pics soon .

Hi everyone!

My name is Calum and I recently bought a 2001 GS300. I'm a PhD student in Northern California and I finally decided to pull the trigger on this car after owning and working on a 2004 Mustang for 5 years or so. A bit about my car:

1) Exterior color: burnished gold
2) Interior color of choice: tan
3) Major options: none
4) Audio options: Mark Levinson
5) Any modifications: it has no modifications as of yet, other than tinted windows

I loved working on and modifying my Mustang, especially with such a strong presence of community behind the car. I'm excited to be a part of the Lexus community now and be able to learn from everyone's experiences working on and modifying their cars!!

Default New Member, 2000 GS400! Hello all :-)

Hello! My name is Stefon and I’m an enthusiast from Philly, PA. I’ll keep it short and sweet. Just purchased this 2G yesterday. Look forward to getting to know the members here and checking out your rides. I’ll post pictures below.

1. Exterior Color: Burnished Gold
2. Interior Color: Tan
3. Major Options: N/A
4. Audio Options: N/A
5. Any Modifications: N/A

I’m an old school/muscle car guy so I’m primarily into things from the 60’s on up. However, I do find appreciation in damn near everything.

I can’t wait to clean this up.

Once I clean it up and go over it with a fine tooth comb, I’ll dig into the history of this thing. It’s honestly the cleanest one I’ve seen in a while. 150,000 miles, I’m the 3rd owner I believed. It runs like like a top and every single thing works in it.

Talking

I got a 2001 GS300 last week. I usually hangout in the SC400/SC300, LS430, GX470, and ES300 sections of Club Lexus. I got rid of the ES and gave the GX back to my stepdad. The GS has been really comfortable so far and is a little bit roomier than the two ES300’s I had. I plan to get coilovers and a different set of OEM Lexus wheels for now. It will be mostly stock as my LS and SC drain most of my money.

1. Exterior Color : White

2. Interior color choice : Tan
3. Major Options or special packages (Sport Design, etc) : Does having a spoiler count?
4. Audio Options (Nakamich/Mark Levinson or Pioneer) : Pioneer
5. Any modifications : Stock
6. Anything you want to mention (others considered, previous Lex owner, etc) : I hope to turbo it someday
7. If you are INTERNATIONAL, state which city/country your representing! : U.S./Oklahoma
8. Post pics or links to your car (you can upload pics in our gallery : None
