Welcome to the club. Be sure and do a lot of reading here. It'll save you a lot of time and trouble and a ton of money. Assuming the 90k service has been done, I'd check on the lower ball joints. It's not a usual maintenance item and they are a known issue for these cars. Anyway... good luck.

2nd Gen & 3rd Gen
Hey guys I’m HALZLOW. I’ve got 2 GS's love them both
1 BLK/BLK 2nd gen GS430 it has
210 Tanabe springs
SPC racing adjustable control arms
20 inch Niche Essence
Intake & Exhaust
JDM window shield
+ some other goodies some of which aren’t on it. I go back and fourth
The 3rd Gen is White/BLK and I just bought it off a CL member. Getting some work on it done to make it perfect. And since this is a 2nd gen thread ill only throw up one pic.

So after working at a Lexus dealership for almost 7 years, I finally bought one. 2000 GS300 Platinum with "only" 134k miles. The PO was more of a lunatic than I am about keeping his car up. It's very rare to see an older car get traded in this clean with this much work put into it. Most of the things that go wrong with this model have been addressed. He just replaced upper control arms, lower ball joints and outer tie rod ends last month. Has stacks of receipts of everything. Even little bulbs. Also has a nice Kenwood nav system with a nice amp replacing the factory one. All very cleanly done. He even saved the original radio, amp and cd changer. AND made sure to leave it with the car. I mean who does that? There are oil leaks in the normal places, mainly front seals. Luckily the timing belt was done at 70k miles so that buys me a little time to fix all that. And I'm putting new tires on tomorrow. I know it's screaming for 18's with a mild drop but maybe in due time. I made that mistake with my BMW and made it too low. This will be replacing my 1992 BMW E34 that I still love (still own it for now). I have it pretty low on some nice 17's and rides pretty well considering the setup and drop. It's going to be weird getting used to an automatic transmission. Only the second I've ever owned. I will say I'm glad I bought this for comfort because it doesn't it compare to the handling or steering feel of the BMW. And say what you will about BMW, the older ones are much better built and more basic (less to go wrong) that new ones.

Hey! I'm Ian. I'm new to the site. I drive a '01 GS430. Black on black leather interior with Mark Levinson audio. Its got Megan coilovers, exhaust(i think TopSpeed? I'm not sure), and Injen intake. I've only had it a couple days but I already love it.

New to Club Lexus.
My name is Dre Dae.
2001 Lexus GS300
Black on Black
Stock everything, stereo, wheels and tint, lol.
I'm looking to upgrade and I'll be asking what quick and easy mode I should make first.
Just started to replace suspension. So far I've replaced front tie rods. I know everything else is coming soon.

Hey everyone! Name's Howie, just started here on CL. I have a silver 2003 GS300, black leather interior. Nothing fancy in terms of options on top of the base model - this is my first car technically, but my family owns/has owned several Lexus cars in the past, starting with a silver '96 LS400 and then a silver '00 GS300, followed by black cherry '03 GS300.
I have a build thread for my GS going as well, so please check that out if you'd like! Cheers.

Hello All,
My name is Chris picked up a 1998 Cinnabar Pearl GS300 with tan interior about 2 weeks ago and figured i should introduce myself. Picked the car up from the 2nd owner has 91k miles and all the services were completed and documented by Lexus up to 85k. Car has a few minor mods from previous owners has Eibach Springs installed, Sway bars, some poly suspension bushings. I have already taken care of a few issues and have a box of parts waiting to go onto the car. Also have included a few pictures of some of the other cars i have owned/modified.
Looking forward to learning some things on the site and hopefully being able to contribute to the forums in a positive way.

New Owner
First post.
Name's Jonathan.
From South Cali - Anaheim area.
Just picked up a Jade green 2000 GS300 w/light interior (tan?) mostly stock with a hair over 110k miles. AFAIK so far, no mods. Unsure if it has Naka just yet. Lots of work to do on this ride before its streetsharp / to my liking.
To do list ASAP:
Tint, Optima yellow top (anyone know model that fits?), New head unit, Transmission cooler, power locks are wonky but might be old battery. I'd like a spoiler similar to factory. Some minor dents / one chip on hood needs some love. Replace oil control valve filter. Flush / replace all new fluids. Anti sway bar. Poly bushings on suspension? (a maxima habit)..
Later:
Wheels / Motivo's, All front lights, Rear LED's + Smoke maybe, Exhaust tips, Possible body kit, Grille - maybe darker, Possible reupholstery, custom interior lighting, Audio upgrade likely.
Used to own and lightly mod 3rd gen Maximas. Other then that.. If I ever do a DIY writeup, it will be thorough. And Thanks/Props to the folks who have put their time into this community. Sad that many threads have broken photo links. =\
Any Orange County groups still around? My ride should look much better by Jan 2015.

Just purchased a 2000 GS 300 from a family member. It has 280,000 Km on it and was kept in near-mint condition.
I want to keep it stock so I don't plan on doing to many things to it. The radio needs a new LCD and there are a bunch of paint chips in the hood.
