Need help from someone with a manual
I have been searching on here and google all night (really all night) trying to figure out how to zero point calibrate my 1999 gs 300. Anyone have a manual for a 99 that explains how to do this? I'm trying to figure out if there is a manual procedure or if it's scan tool only. I have been planning to purchase a repair manual but have been unable to find one for a 99. Waiting on one to pop up on ebay.
I have read the technical bulletin that says that you can jump the TS and CG pins on the DCL3 connector. The problem is the bulletin is for a 2004. My 99 only has 4 pins on that connector. I have pin 4, CG (COMMON GROUND), but not TS. My factory electrical diagram for a 99 confirms this.
Before someone says stop being cheap and bring it to the dealer:
1. The local Toyota dealer says that their computers can't communicate with Lexus. They're probably wrong since they probably have techstream, but this shows their competence level.
2. The nearest Lexus dealer is 1.5 hours away with some interstate travel so I'd rather not do that to be safe.
Starting to think my next best option will be to buy a bootleg techstream and try to clear it myself. I would rather not, but the lack of competent mechanics around me is forcing me to take matters in my own hands.

Never had any codes or lights for this problem. I just finished ohm testing all of the abs speed sensors and they are pretty much in spec (1.7 kOhms). This all started around the time I installed my wood wheel. I must have rotated the new wheel a few teeth. Never got the slip indicator in the 1st 5 years of owning it. Most of the times abs activates is when I'm turning. The car is confused with where it thinks the steering wheel is versus what the yaw rate sensor is telling it. If zero point isn't the problem, the only other culprit would be the yaw rate sensor. But since this started when I changed the wheel, I'm pretty sure it just needs the calibration. I really hope someone can take the time to help me out with my question. I know we still have some knowledgeable members on here.

Give this a shot, disconnect the battery( - side ) center your steering wheel and then remove it. Try to center the spiral cable.
2.5 turns to the left
Back to the center
2.5 turns to the right
Back to the center
Make sure it's right in the center and reinstall your steering wheel and connect the battery. Drive the car and see if that fixes it.

I pushed the car a little and the abs activated. I'll have to drive the car some more to figure out if it's still malfunctioning or acting normal. In the meantime I bought a used yaw rate sensor and a techstream.

Also I don't even know if they did it totally correct because I remember the procedure saying to disconnect and re-connect the battery before calibrating the sensor. When I got in the car, the touchscreen radio was on the same station I left it on and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have bothered to reprogram that.

Yes it did. It didn't trigger on fast straight line acceleration though. It's done that before. It did it when I turned a little quick at a traffic light. Maybe it was the slight bumpiness, I don't know. I'm just going to have to drive it more because this car will go a couple days without triggering it and then it will do it for a couple days on simple turns.
Yaw rate sensor was like $9 bucks so I'll wait until that and my bootleg techstream get here. If it triggers some more I'll try to install the new yaw rate sensor and hopefully the techstream can calibrate it.
