Just got my gs
Hi, just got a lexus gs 1999 model with around 165,000km done. My grandfather bought it brand new and now passed it on to me. As far as he remembers, apart from your regular service, he has not had to do any work on it.
What important parts do you suggest i change that should have given up by now or will do soon?
I have read about the ball joint issues so this i am planning to do as i am sure the car is still on the original ones.
Thanks, great forum by the way!

Welcome to the club. I would change the tie rod ends along with the LBJ. Assuming the 90k mile service was done timely, you are about due another one. If it wasn't you need to do that ASAP. With that many miles I would do the timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals, tensioner, accessory belt, valve cover gaskets, plugs and wires and maybe even have the VVT-i pulley rebuilt.

Thanks for the feedback. Will start with timing belt and LBJ. I've seen various posts about this and the damage caused when they give up which got me bit worried.
