I have a stock 98 gs300, I want to start modding but I also really like the 2nd generation IS350. Should I keep the gs or should I sell the gs and get a IS? I do love my car but I also like the thought of a newer Lexus. What would you all recommend?

If you can afford it go for it.

this right here.... plus the 350 has newer technology.... have you driven both? The IS is going to be smaller FYI... but you can go wrong with either and both look great when modded...

i haven' driven a 350. i'm going all just on looks. have you driven a 350 before? how is it compared to ours if so. a lot smaller? i love the look of the 350 BUT i still love mine. still trying to figure out if i can afford it. i can afford the car but it's gonna sit stock for a while but mine is paid off and i could start modding soon... thanks for your input.

compare a corolla to camry. IS is corolla and GS is camry in terms of space. Your 300 would feel sluggish after test driving the IS350.

i'll be the first to say I would never go from 2GS to 2IS unless it was an ISF...sure the 350 is fast but i hate the dashboard material and the back seats are super cramped. Also the crazy styling on the current gen IS really made the 2IS look dated fast.

Still really nice cars though, but the 2GS is better for my tastes..

and i'm not just saying that because the 2GS are way cheaper

I was going to say that most of my close friends have an iS250/iS350.

It is a lot smaller and I'm glad my car is much more spacious

Helps that I'm the only GS too

that's what I'm a afraid of as well is losing space. I really want my next car to be IS F or LS . I don't have kids to utilize the back seat but it certainly would be a big change in a good way.

It's the same where I live. Lots of modded IS250/350 and IS300's, a few LS400's but MAYBE only four or five modded 2GS if that. I would test drive a 2IS and see how you like it. Personally, I prefer a roomy cruiser with just enough power that we have in our 2GS.

Thank you all for the feed back. I really appreciate it. I think I'm just gonna hang on to the gs. She's paid off and is very roomy.
