Looking at GS430, LS430, etc. good prices?

There are actually two seperate 03 white/ black interior sport designs in the twin cities, but both overpriced in my opinion 9k I think one is 8500, honestly I'd probably go for that silver and black gs430, it's 3 grand less and anything wrong you could likely get tuned up or fixed for less than than 3k difference, I love my 300 but I would like more power, plus the 430 has nav/ mark levinson audio

The one in Baraboo WI, is heavily smoked in. With 3 asthmatics in my family, that kills that one.
The $5200 one is high mileage (182k) miles.
The Des Moines one is higher miles (~157k miles) and probably the best of the bunch.
The V8 is attractive. Is the V8 more well regarded than the 6 cylinder?
The lower miles on the GS300 is attractive too (thats about 2 years of driving for me).
Is the an interior size difference between the GS300 vs GS430?

Hmmm. Just got the carfax back on the Des Moines vehicle. 5 owners... and was told 2... not to sure on that one...
Have a feeler out to a CL member in NY who has a single owner GS for decent price.

OP, if you can find a good condition 430, go for it. I have a 300 that I love but ONLY bought the 300 because I came from a gas hog Q45. I found out afterwards that the 400/430 gas is very similar to the I-6. It's quick enough for me, but I would rather have the 300 hp to be honest. Plus the 430's are more rare.

Keep in mind, back in 2001, price difference between GS300 and 430 were more than you're looking to spend for the cars now. (about 10k difference... equipped same, I think it was more like 12k more for 430)
When I bought my GS back in late 2011, 300 vs 430 wasn't even an issue. I wanted 430 for power, and standard equipment it came with.
If you can afford to take time to find the right one, I'm sure it'll turn up, especially with the summer coming up.

Yeah those five spoke factory rims have grown on me. At first I was going to get rid of them maybe not

That 430 in Des Moines with 159K looks good from the pics. I'd offer him $7k tops, after you drive it of course. As far as the # of owners goes, it might be that the present owner was told by the person he bought it from that it was a one owner car and he just never verified it.

Right but with 5 owners that seems like an excessive amount wouldn't you say?
There is an 01 430 in black with 88900 miles in Chicago area for 10900. Lexus dealership though...

Good luck with your search, I'm from south of the metro and 400's and 430's are rare in MN, was the same when I was shopping 6 years ago. I'd look for a 430 if I were you, extra power is nice, both very reliable if well maintained, and gas mileage difference is negligible. My car had multiple owners but I've had no problems outside of maintenance, all comes down to how well those owners took care of it.

Depends on the maintenance. Check the maintenance log on the Lexus website and see how complete it is. If I pass a car I bought brand new to my son and then he gives it to his sister when she turns 16 that would technically be 3 owners despite the fact it was maintained perfectly. Not saying that's the case here but it's possible. Have you driven a 400/430? I've never driven a 300 so I really can't say how big a difference it is but I can tell you that I will NEVER EVER part with my 430. EVER.
