Audio Options on GS with Nav.
It sounds like the factory Sub blew on my 70k Gs430 yesterday. Never really pushed it and always kept the bass turned down. I've always have put a decent sound system in cars that I've built but really didn't feel the need with the Gs with the ML system. My question is what are my options to upgrade the stereo? How will I control the Climate Control if I replace the factory deck? I've seen people change out the sub but the amount of work to do so seems ridiculous. Lexus could have made things much easier by mounting the sub from the bottom. Has anyone added an aftermarket amps and subs and continued to use the stock Nav deck?

The rear deck isn't that hard to remove, plenty of people on here have modded the sub.

Just keep the navi. The ML system is good enough if you use the cassette as an auxiliary If u look at 1 of my threads i have a fosgate t1 12" in place of my stock ml sub. My door speakers and tweeters are way too loud. Changing my amp soon, need more bass

If I picked up the climate controls do they bolt and plug right in when removing the factory Nav unit? For instance is there a plug on the back of the Nav unit that plugs directly into the climate control unit? Or is there modification or a harness that is needed. Thanks for your help.

considering the GS has:
- 2 front door speakers + tweeters (components + crossover)
- 2 rear door speakers
- 1 rear sub in the deck
wouldn't you need at least a 5 channel?

I have a JL 500/1 v2 for my 12" sub with a box in the trunk already already, but just need components and interior car speakers.

Didn't want to touch the navi also so all I did was add a line out converter, hooked it up to the factory sub, added a amp and two tens and boom music to your ears lol everyone thinks I got a crazy system when there in the car but it's so basic, if your not looking to beat the block this should be good to try
