Default motor overhaul question vvti.

I have a 2002 gs300 with 200k miles on it. which leaks oil from the vvti cam gear. but drives good.

i want to buy a used 2jzge vvti usdm and rebuild it to stock specs.

ive seen more 1998 and 1999 2jzge vvti motors for sale than the newer 2001-2005

are all all gs300 2jzge motors the same? they look the same?
im assuming there the same for the is300.

just the harness is different for the is300.
anything else?

Engine Harness is different between 98-01 and 02-05 Gs. The block and head are the same tho.

If a swap is what you're looking to do, I would just swap out to an Aristo VVt-I and rebuild the motor. A clean motor set does need much attention but while it's out, you might as well replace the common problem parts such as the VVTi gear seal, sensors, and OCV.

I cannot do the aristo vvti since im in cali and the smog issue.
that's why I just want a motor to rebuild, then drop it fresh.
thanks for the replies.
I would just do the cam gear, but I rather do it all.
also replacing the seal in the cam gear would work too, I just need to find a good place to pick up the oring.
