Drivers Door Lock Actuator
Just bought a '98 GS400.. Previous owner was making mods, but reportedly got sick, and poor guy died of cancer. Fellow who I bought it from was his room mate, and said the owner mentioned that he disconnected the door lock so it wouldn't lock him out.
The key remote locks all but the drivers door. I have to lock and unlock with the key each time. Before I dive into repair/replace of the actuator, does ANYONE have an idea of how he might have disabled the drivers only door lock?
I've had the panel off, and the only loose wire I found was for the speaker, as he installed a whole new sound system.
Any ideas?

First off, Welcome to ClubLexus.
Utilizing the search button next time will give you most answers you need, especially with door actuators. There is a sticky on top of the 2GS Forum reading about it.
I`m positive that it's just your door actuator. My GS400 driver door only locks if i manually lock it, but can unlock with the button. My passenger door ONLY locks/unlocks when I press my key or the lock button inside, you cannot lock it physically. Replacing the motors internally will fix the problem on it. Check out the sticky for the parts you need and there is a extremely detailed DIY on youtube. Happy Modding.

Just complaining... Replaced my rear passenger door lock actuator this spring and today the rear driver side stopped working.
When it rains, it pours. For my next service I'm going to do oil, turn the front rotors and register my car plus the failed actuator. Then in the fall, I'm probably grabbing a set of snow tires.
Ok, I'm done complaining... Maybe.
