Default Insane cracking/whining noise from all speakers

Issue- Was driving home listening to the radio when suddenly all my speakers are cracking and there is a whining noise that gets louder as I go faster or quieter as I slow down (like rpm/alt voltage related). It is all the speakers all the time, doesn't change with the volume. As long as there is power to the radio, there is this noise. I can actually still hear the radio underneath all the noise. My head unit is an aftermarket touchscreen Pioneer unit. It was wired for an aftermarket amp, but was told it was running off the stock amp now (old aftermarket one is still in the trunk).

I suppose I should check any grounds the head unit is wired to, and the amp?

Just looking for a good starting point.

it sounds like alternator whine.

check your power and ground to all sources.

If your car is wired to use the factory mark levinson amp, your symptoms are the same as a bad ML amp. You can either replace the amp with a used working one, or rewire to use an aftermarket amp/head unit amp.

Well I pulled the glove box and found it wasn't wired to the stock amp, but rather the aftermarket amp in the trunk. Problem ended up being some RCA cables hitting a ground behind the head unit. Redid the ground and problem solved.
