Hello,
My car is at the body shop getting my L-Sportline kit mounted. One thing is that the two factory screws and bracket that hold on the fog lights is not mountable on the outside of the bumper?
My guy is looking at fabing a bracket to mount on the inside, but i want to see what the community did.
Those who have had or have this kit... What did you do to mount the fog lights?
The fogs install from the inside. You have to make your own holes. Just make sure they aren't too long. I think I used the OE screws
I see. Did you use the metal bracket?
Also the rear bumper did not fit without taking out the 5 mph foam energy absorber. Same for you?
Thanks for the reply!
I don't remember how the rear installation went but that sounds right. I can see the metal reinforcement through the slot in the middle of the bumper. It's been 13 years since the install! For the fogs I'm not sure what metal brackets you mean. If your talking about the ones that the screws go into I did not use them. I screwed directly through the plastic tabs on the fogs directly into the bumper.

Exellent. Thank you for your information!
How has it stood the test of time for you?

I like that's it's not fiberglass but there were some flaws. The rear bumper sides just aren't as straight as OE. It's not that bad but if you reall look you can tell. But overall I'm happy. I had someone hit the back and the bumper absorbed it well. I'm sure the whole kit would have fallen off by now if It was fiberglass.
The foam shock absorber doesn't fit with the rear bumper, have him sand down and spray the metal behind the opening with some flat black or something too or the rust will show through behind the mesh. Might've thought of that already but worth mentioning!
Correct, need to make holes in front bumper for fogs. My rear bumper still fits with the white energy foam. I got the car back and everything fit well but the dumb white foam was showing through the mesh slot in the rear bumper. So, I masked it off and re-sprayed the mesh with gloss black spray paint making sure the white foam got completely covered with the black. It turned out perfect and stayed nice. Had the kit on now for almost 5 yrs.
so the rear bumper has issues fitting the GS.. is this authentic?
Mine fit very well, guessing the polyurethane just got miss-shapen a bit from storage or shipping. Its pretty pliable when warm and get a little out of shape but can easily be massaged back into shape with a little heat.
