Hi,
I just bought a GS400 a week or so ago. The other day I was driving from my house down a steep hill. I forgot something at home so I put the car in reverse and went backwards up the hill. I quickly turned off the car and jumped out. When I got back, the car wouldn't start. I put it in neutral and rolled downhill. I waited a couple minutes and then it fired up. I figured maybe I flooded the engine somehow. Then tonight, I left home, drove 2 blocks to 7-11, jumped out and returned to the car about 5minutes later. The car wouldn't start. I tried turning it over a few times with no luck. Finally, it turned over. I got home, parked and tried starting again and it started. What might be the cause of this? The car has 79K miles on it and it was put on a computer diagnostic during a pre purchase inspection. Everything checked out ok. One thing I suspect is that it has not had the 60K service and the plugs may need to be replaced. Does this sound like a probable cause for my problem?
Thanks

Hey you are in luck...
I had the same problem. It does not have anything to do with your driving. You need a new starter!!! My problem was that it would just click for a while and it would finally fire. As time went by the clicking would get longer and longer. Sorry to tell you this but you need a starter. The dealer will try to charge you around 1200. If you live aroung Seattle I can get it fixed for you for around 400 dollars. Please keep in mind that when you change the starter you need to also buy the gasket seals for intake manifold. The lower one. It costs around 40 each at the dealer and you need two of them.
Hope this helps
