"Topping-Off" Gas

Did I not make sense??
When you have the nozzle buried ALL the way into the car, and you keep "clicking" the lever after it's already reached full, the pump will NOT pump in any more gas. There is a recovery system that will prevent it from doing that...
When you pull out the nozzle a little bit and then pump, then it's different, it doesn't sense that the tank is full anymore so it pumps more gas in....this is how you can "top off"
If you hold the "sleeve" around the end of the nozzle back, it will pump gas as if the nozzle is in the tank (watch people with motorcycle's fill their tank)...so you can point the nozzle at your trunk, pull back the sleeve, and pump gas all day long onto your trunk.
