Here are some pictures of the group buy wood steering wheel with longer wood pieces and thumb rests.
The quality of this wheel is excellent. The wood color is a match and the wood grain looks great, it doesn't have quite as much burl as the other wood in the car. The wheel looks and feels great in your hand. The finger grips are subtle (see pic #2) but provide adequate grip. The leather color matches the air bag cover.
Overall, I would rate the quality of this wood wheel conversion at least on par with, and may be a little better than the normal Lexus quality on the rest of the car.
Check the group buy section for prices and pictures of the wheel before it was installed.

It’s a '99 GS4 with the normal ivory interior. I believe the dash color is supposed to be brown, but it definitely has grey tones in it and also the floor mats. The pictures may not be showing a true color. There is a lot of snow on the ground that was reflecting light/colors from all over the place.

Nice JOB!
How hard was the actual install itself?

You have to strip the wheel down to the frame before sending it to A/S. So, the hardest part of the install is remembering where all the springs, washers, and contacts go for the horn switch mechanism. A couple of good pictures of what is behind the airbag is highly recommended and will aid the re-assembly. Putting the wheel and airbag back on is very straight forward, just one nut for the wheel and two bolts for the airbag.

No it's not the burl wood pattern. I believe the burl wood from A/S is a photo applied pattern. With the natural wood you get some curved grain, because the wood is cut to the curve of the wheel. I'm very happy with the grain. Sometimes the burled wood can look gaudy on a steering wheel (IMHO).
Manaray worked hard and long on this one, but his hard work really paid-off. This is a quality product at a reasonable price.

I didn't think you had the pattern applied. I knew it was not a natrual design which was why I asked because it looks great without it. I'm sure you're enjoing the look. I'll eventually order one sometime in the future.
