Putting a third brake light in a lexus GS430 after removing stock wing
I have been reading about how to wire up a third brake light on GS430 that comes with wing with brake light in it.From what I read there is a third brake light connector under all Lexus Gs even the ones that don't come with high mount brake light. Is this true? Also I read I can just can buy a third brake light and cut a whole in the rear deck. So if this is true is the third brake light connector underneath the carpet in the rear? Has anybody every try to do this?

I'm somewhat in the process of doing this myself. I can confirm their is a connector for a 3rd brake light. I have an 05 430 that came stock with spoiler and no 3rd brake light in the rear deck.
I was just gonna cut the hole in the rear deck and install a stock light that I bought on ebay but decided to try something custom. Still haven't had time to do it, but it's on the list.

There is a connector in every 2GS with or without that third brake light. You just have to remove the seats, pillars, and deck lid (in that order) according to the DIY posted at the top of the 2GS forum. I did all that, bought the third brake light assembly, traced it out on cardboard, and cut out the hole in my decklid for the assembly. HOWEVER, I have a 98 GS400, which if I remember correctly, has a wiring issue where only a few of the bulbs light up. A few other members may have had this same issue. Out of 5 bulbs, the same 3 would light up regardless of new bulbs or new assembly. Some have tried to bypass the wiring, but it doesn't stay functional for long.
