Ive dragged my GS4 plenty of times, without the LSD, I couldnt even launch over 1.5 1.7 K without doing a burnout and leaving a 30 foot patch of rubber from the left tire on the ground. So launch pretty low, now with LSD, I can launch at around 2K or above and still shake and go. People with LSD should know what I mean about the shake or vibration.

LEXGS400- It's a learning experience. Once you get you GS, figure out what works for you.

With 2800 TC, TMPlugs, and Torsen 376 LSD:
If I power brake much above 1k or 1.5k, its like Michael J. Fox - Spin City with a dual patch laid behind me.
A flat stomp will give me a tad of wheel hop, then I am gone.
A flat stomp from a 5 or 10mph roll, I can still brake it loose if I'm not careful.
If I want a quick, smooth departure, I'll apply maybe 15% throttle so I start out in first gear, then just after I get rolling for a second or two, I'll smoothly get it floored. This will run 1st gear out nicely, then of course the remaining gears all wind out at redline.
HTH

With TRD 3.27 LSD, 2800rpm stall TC:
Power brake @1500 rpm in Power mode, release brake, roll @ 3k for about 1 second to get out of 1st gear then floor it and let the tranny ECU take ove the gear shifting all the way to red line. You should be able to beat 97% of the cars on the street

You also have to account for variations in "contact patch". I haven't upgraded my TC or to an LSD, yet. When I had stock rubber(225's on 16"s) I could break it loose with little to moderate brake torque. Now with 275s, It's much harder. And if I stomp from stop with no BT, I CANNOT even chirp the rear end. It just bites, and I go. Lot's of variables to account for.

Pardon my ignorance but what is LSD and TLC and all the other abbreviations you guys are using?
I have a stock GS400 that scoots pretty quick. I haven't tried power braking to launch my car but I am interested in learning more about what I can do to improve launchability.
Please elaborate.
Thanks

LSD = Limited Slip Diff
TC = Torque Converter
Both part can be upgraded from stock to higher performance parts.
they run about 1000.00 bucks or so and most of the time have to be installed by pros.
Doing a search on these terms using the search feature in this forum will give you a much better info on how, when, where and at what cost.
