2Gen GS300 - 2Gen GS430 Engine/Tranny Swap
Okay, I know some of you will wonder why I do not know the answer to my question so, please forgive my ignorance on the subject matter aforehand.
As some of you will recall, I wrecked my 2001 GS430 last year and have been contemplating what to do with it. The frame is bent; however, the engine and transmission are intact without problems. My wooden steering wheel is intact as well (NOTE: The airbag never went off).
Anyhow, What I want to know is; can I transplant my engine/transmission/wood steering wheel into a 2Gen GS300? I also have an opportunity to purchase a 2001 GS300 for around $2500 (They can't find the title...)
So if anyone knows the answer to this question, I'd be much obliged. I've had fun riding around in my Jeep but I REALLY miss my Lexus and the time has come to start my build.
Thanks in advance!

They can't get the Title electronically or from the DMV/tag agency?
Should be possible, but I think the ecu might need to be swapped also (not really sure). But this is a first I've heard on a 430 swap to a 300. I think your steering wheel controls will no longer work.

The thing is, I have a well maintained engine and transmission from my 2GEN GS430, but I can't find a 2GEN GS430 in my price range. I find 2GEN GS300's ALL DAY, but I'd like to keep my V8 and I'm not sure if I can use the 2GEN GS300 chassis to accommodate my V8...

Dude def. Not worth it, you'd be better off installing a ls1 to be honest, and for you to be concerned over a dam steering wheel lol, tells me NEITHER is the swap for you broski. Sell the motor and Trans, try putting it in the off road world forums, people building sand rails may find that motor intriguing, but otherwise, get rid of that stuff man get yourself a new ride.

It should be relatively easy to do the swap considering that you have a complete parts car to use. The frames are pretty much identical, but there are a few things to watch out for like different hose routings on the V8. The steering wheel will bolt right on, but the radio controls won't work without wiring modification, presumably in the steering column somewhere, as both models share part numbers for the main dash harness.
