Hey All,

Need your help. I got my spark plugs replaced but in the process may have short circuited the igniter. Basically it starts up and then shuts off. The mechanic did all the tests and advised will need to replace the igniter. So Im hoping you guys know a site where I can find a Toyota DH61 Igniter. I tried Ebay and see one used but looks phish. In S.F, Ca, so local would be nice but dont mind ordering and getting it delivered.

look at car-part.com. you can even narrow search to your area and may be able to pick it up at a local salvage yard. Be sure it is the igniter because if just one coil pak has an issue it shuts the gas flow off after 2 seconds. Same symptom and code as igniter. Were any of the plastic clips in the coil paks broken?

Thanks for relying Burny. He did clean the coils pretty good, since there was oil it, and no plastic chips on coils were broken. He did mention a reading on one of the coils was off by like .001, so one tested .006 and the other was .007. He said that could be one of the reasons. The other being the igniter. Below is the picture of two wires exposed, which he said one of them could have touched the metal and short circuit. For the Coils, I see they range from like $60 to $90, but did see one at this site, http://goo.gl/AW5YHi , but not sure how good they are.

do you know anyone with same car you could swap out igniter and try?
