Buying Advice- 1998 GS300 or 1998 LS400

^Just posting my opinion man. So much hate! You will be disappointed to hear that I am "Briddish" too! Lol! My wheels are 20s btw not 21s
I have always liked the style of the 2GS stock, especially the rear with the 4 lights and the stock wing. The LS just looks like a big Camry or something to me. Not saying they're not nice cars, I think they're one of the best cars ever made, but the guy asked which one we would buy out of those 2 so I gave my thoughts
edit: side note, I think the current gen LS looks way better than the new GS, that thing looks like a Hyundai

Not fond of the Briddish but here's an ole Top Gear review comparing just these two cars. Before the buffoonery era of Jeremy Clarkson and his Astons and Jaguars.

As for the topic at hand. What do you want? Do you plan to stance her or just leave it stock and drive it around. The GS has more aftermarket support in general than the LS does. Both the 2JZ i6 in the GS300 and the 1UZ v8 in the GS400 and LS400 are very very reliable motors overall so you can't go wrong with either as far as reliability. If you want more power, go for the GS400. Its a very quick car. I currently have an LS400 and LOVE it. It's a bit of a boat but it's nearing 250k miles with no issues whatsoever. I am about to purchase a GS400 though just because they are faster, and it has a little less mileage with all preventative maintenance done very recently.
In all honesty I think it would just come down to your preference in styling, because both are amazing cars and you can't go wrong with either.

Oh well thread drift so just one final parting thought. Jeremy Clarkson is paid by the British taxpayer to make pro-Brit fodder. A very creative exciting program that I've watched many times. But also verging on patronizing reality tv sausage.
Some of his thoughts are bordering on the typical "Briddish" downspeak and snobbery, especially against their "colonies" and people who don't have the right "skin tone".
And he's also referred to the 2GS as a "Japanese Geisha Maiden".
LS vs GS who knows, lol. It's a personal choice.

it is kind of hard to believe... its the combination of the low .28 drag coefficient, more efficient vvt-i engine, and an additional 5th gear. at 80 mph in 5th the engine is only revving at 2500 rpm which is hardly valve float territory... on a warm day (above 70℉) on a relatively flat road with the a/c off, windows up, stock wheels, up to about 65-70 mph its possible to be getting 30 mpg. that's according to the car itself and my own calculation using the trip computer and how much gas was put in between fill ups

I have owned a GS and two LSssss. Both great cars. In this particular case...I would get the LS over the GS only for more power. As stated....the LS is more about luxury and cruising and the GS is a little more sporty. Given two equal models....it would be tough for me to decide...but the LS would prob win out as it's more luxurious and roomy....plus I love the LS style.
