I'm about to start doing my LS 430 retro soon but just waiting on some more parts. For those that have done it whats the best sealant to use when putting the headlights back together?
I've done them re-using the factory butyl and adding the extra butyl rubber TYPEII posted, I'd spend the extra couple dollars and make sure they're sealed well. Some of the factory rubber will be lost and deformed when you open them, it can't hurt to have some extra sealant and imo the cost is worth the security of not having to potentially dry them out and re-seal them later.

I agree with this comment. I used brand new headlights to do my retro and thought it would be fine just reusing the factory butyl, ended up getting moisture in there and had to do everything again and added extra butyl
