Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue filling up my tank my gs 400 I purchased it from someone but they stated they never had the issue just noticed it today! when trying to pump gas the handle just continues to click as if the gas tank is full when it's actually not I saw a few threads about a hose on the charcoal canister that may be clogged or something but Idk I hope it isn't anything major please help

try and different pump.... the station could be low on gas.

also make sure the neck of the gas nozzle is seated properly in the hole...

I did think that at first so I switched pumps and it still wouldn't allow me to put gas in it I have no clue what to do I don't want to take it to the dealer and get ripped off either 😔😔 thanks for replying

Happens to me every now and then. I sometimes pull the nozzle out maybe an inch or two. Sometimes I tilt the handle downward so that the tip of the nozzle moves upward just a bit. Seems to help. It is an oddsituation that it may occur somewhat frequently for a few fillups and then it might not happen again for many many months. I am generally ok wit things like this as long as the car continues to run so reliably.

Happened to me as well. It ended up being the nozzle from one of the pumps broke and fell in my Filler tube. remove the piece with a long nose needle plier.

I have a similar sort of thing in my GS300. Seems to click well before its full, and the gauge is going bad too (Says its empty, but is full and overflowing after 45L / 11 gallons). Pulling the fuel nozzle back a little bit seems to help with getting it to not click before full

I have this issue with a Scion XB I own... I can not pump gas with the handle straight like every other car, I have to twist the handle to where its pretty much sideways causing the gas to go in at an angle into the tank and it doesn't click once. Its gotta be a back flow issue where the gas is coming out at a faster rate than the car can handle causing it to click as if its full. Also try pumping at half speed. Hope this helps...
