Default Taking apart headlight question...

Hey guys, so since i'm only planning on taking the head light lens off so I can seal it better, and paint the bezel. Would I be able to remove the lens with a heat gun without removing the head light from the car? Is this possible? Will I break something?

you need to remove the headlight as the bottom portion is covered by the bumper... you need the bumper off to get the headlight off... If the bumper is off then maybe

No its not possible. There are screws from behind the housing that hold the lens to the housing and cant be removed while its on the car.
