Default thoughts on ML sound, would you replace?

So i finally got my subwoofer installed. thinking my stock ML sound system was good enough, the bass over powers the mids, i have aftermarket tweeters so im good there. But i feel like im mostly listening to bass more then the actual beat. Also i feel like the sound from the door speakers is too crisp. I would like it too sound more loud and low while still retaining quality if that makes any sense.

Also, im terrified that if i replace the door speakers i might not like the sound. I was planning on forking out the 500$ for the jl components speakers to make sure i wouldnt be downgrading. any specific brand that anyone reccomends ? I read that many are going with 6.5s in the doors, would that give me the sound im looking for? I also have another idea and would like your guy'z thoughts on it. should i keep my stock ml speakers since they are not blown, and just place bigger mids around the car and amp those? I was thinking maybe replace the dash speaker and add some speakers in the decklid like most cars with tan mesh to help keep a somewhat stock look.

Just looking for some options.
