New to CL... Reppin Lexus with an immaculate 2004 GS430
Sup guys?
Im new here but a long time lover of Lexus... My first Lexus: I test drove a 97 SC400 and vowed to own one... So i "saved up" lol and got a 95 SC300... Being the first car I ever took apart to fully customize, I had a ton of extra pieces when I put it back together lol... Anyways, Ive owned honda bummers and vdubs ... Never again... Anyway, Im happy to say I'm back in a Lexus. The best part is, this 2004 GS430 was in immaculate condition because it was owned by an older couple (ONE OWNER CAR )... Just needs 1% cleaning and its all good... Quick tip: don't forget to treat your leather (interior) in the winter... most people don't think about the effect the cold has on leather.
Nice to meet all of you guys, chicks, veterans and trolls.
Not wasting your time, imma ask a quick question I may already know the answer to... My first "HELP!" post. lol...
The chrome on my shifter bezel was coming off... So i want to pull it to get it painted gloss black... How do i?
As far as the leather goes, I highly recommend buying leatherique, by far th best cleaning/detailing product I've ever used. Makes leather look and feel so much better
To paint the trim black, be sure to use some type of adhesive promoter, any other way and it will just chip. I think wrapping it makes a simple job a bit harder.
EVERYONE ELSE, I WILL BE POSTING ALOT OF PICS SOON... It is all stock right now, bone stock... so stock i have the original 5th wheel (spare) and the third key still in its package and the key cutting dog tags... I consider myself lucky
And I would think just sanding it down and wrapping it in a gloss black vinyl would be a little more durable then just painting.
I would wrap it in vinyl but the gloss black would scuff a lot over time... i use the best vinyl out there... funny story i am an authorized VVIVID Vinyl dealer (you may have heard of them since you're Canadian)... Anyways we get our stuff from Germany.
P.S... Soon (after my 30 day probation cuz I'm new here lol) I'm posting a thread stating I'm offering at least 10% all vinyl ordered from me... in some cases more... p.s #2... VVIVID Vinyl is the BEST and CHEAPer than 3m and Avery

Be sure to register as a vendor first - I'm sure any of the moderators can point you in the right direction.

YESSS a good vinyl vender!! I think VVIVID is great so welcome!!
have you considered leaving the protective laminate on the vinyl? i did that cuz mine always got scratches or hand prints and it seems to do fine for such a minimal piece
