Just got home from a trip and wondering why my oil light is on. Got a few pics and hoping someone can chime on what it is. I plan on going under the car and checking this weekend as well and hope to narrow it down, but getting so curious now.
I hear of cam, crank, vvti, rear main seals, and valve cover gaskets. I know I've changed the cam, crank, and valve cover gasket for sure about less than 10k miles ago. The oil seems to be around the oil pan area on the floor, but I noticed this area so wet from the ocv valve. Help please.
Oil leaks are hard to trace. I would wipe everything down real good and make sure the oil level is right. Drive the care til the week and check again. I was going to suggest cam seal but you replaced it already

I was wondering about the pics of the oil line I took. Why is it wet and does it leak because it seems to be wet all the way down?
Yea I checked the common oil leak spots on my car and for sure had the crank seal, 2 cam seals, rear main seal, and valve covers done. The VVTI pulley looks dry as a whistle. I've been chasing suspension noises and oil leaks for the past month and it has been driving me nuts.. But I love my 2GS besides these issues. Very strong engine.
Looks like both cam seals are leaking. If they were just changed they might not be seated correctly or maybe a lower quality seal was used. The seals should last at least 90K mile before needing to be replaced.
I hope it's not the cam seals because I did them about 20k miles ago with seals from sewell Lexus. I'm going to wipe everything down and then check it out and go under the car my bday weekend.
Update: It turned out to be a small leak in the VVTI gear which I'm having someone rebuild it as well as a cam gear seal which the previous installer didn't install properly.
