Hi,
just read about a steering rack overhaul that is possible on honda civics. in the context a glide bearing is replaced.
So i had a look on the epc of our 2gs and tried to find something like a glide bearing on the pinion rack...but i couldn't find it.
since there are companies, that overhaul steering racks, which parts are changed, excluding oil seals? which mechanical parts fail that lead to much freeplay?
any inputs would be appreciated!

Our racks rely on those rings on the lower right hand corner. They're harder plastic bushings that acts as your 'glide bearings.' I find that most of the time, freeplay comes from improper tensioner adjustments, or worn inner/outer tie rods. Most people will have leaks before having actual mechanical problems on the inside. Haven't really seen anything else go wrong with our steering racks.
