Default weird sound when turning wheel

Hey Guys,

When I turn my wheel and move from a complete stop I hear a weird cracking/popping sound coming from the front of my car. I only hear this sound when taking the car out of my garage. The car drives fine and I have no idea what it could be? If it helps my car is stock height and has 19" wheels, I doubt that has anything to do with it, I hope.

Help.

Is your garage floored with very smooth concrete?? If so, the tire contact patch is wide enough and the rubber soft enough (if you've got 19s, I KNOW you're not rolling on hard rubber) that you'll get rubber squeak when you turn as you back out. (Wifey's RX doesn't do this, presumably because the CrossTerrains have narrower patch and much harder rubber.) Won't do it when wet simply because the water serves as sufficient lubricant.

Does this fit? If not, no clue at this point..........

Does it feel like the steering rack is giving at all? Like something is actually breaking or tearing loose?

What are the specs on your GS?

I bet it is what MT is describing, burt take note of the feedback, and get to a dealer if it feels funny.
