Default How much should it cost to repaint the front of a car?

Im interested in getting my mirrors, fenders, hood and front bumper repainted the factory silver, just due to lots of chips and such, how much should I expect to pay for a decent paint job? I've never had to do body work before.

you can find pretty decent bodywork guys freelancing on craigslist. This would run you about $300-400.

At a body shop, more like 700-800.

I think just the front bumper is around 400 bucks. So plus hood and fenders and mirrors it's going to go up to 800-900. Of course it depends on the body shop.

That's not that bad, I'm gonna price around, that would definately give my car a good facelift, 220k of chips has taken its toll..

I have a few paint chip on the hood and front bumper and my body shop friend tell me that is better to paint all full car and only he want $800.00 and I know him for like 15 years and the work he does. Right now he have in his shop a Supra 96 twin turbo same color as my car and look super, super nice.

Sorry to read that. It is a lot of money for only the front bumper.

I saw this thread earlier and was going to reply unfortunately you are likely looking at well over $1000 for what you want painted by a decent place. For your mirrors I would try spraying it yourself with a base coat /2K clear coat from pre mixed aerosol cans and save $100 or so.

If you practice you might be able to get good results spraying your bumper and fenders too. The hood would be too much though to get a nice even finish with aerosol cans.

Normally cans of pre mixed urethane base coat run about $20 a piece
A can of 2K clear runs about $20 a can
You will need a respirator which can be pretty cheap, around $20.

The rest is sandpaper and masking tape and bondo/filler if you need it and time, patience, research, and practice.

I am not saying it is easy but you can get pretty good results for not too much money or you could buy a sprayer/tank and go that route which will be less expensive then a paint job.

I'm gonna check out a couple shops this week and see what they say, although painting a car myself has always been something I've wanted to attempt, I don't think I could do it on my GS, I'd rather practice on a cheap car first, my car overall looks great from 10 feet away, it's just when you get really close. Anyone had their front resprayed the factory color and how did it turn out, did it match well?

You may as well paint the entire car for the price you are going to pay just to paint the fenders, hood, bumper and mirrors. Plus the shop will have to blend and match the fresh paint with the old paint. Typically on your front doors....
