I have a 1999 Lexus 400gs.. and a use 2008 Lexus 350 GS.... I wanted a 460 GS but would have to travel 1000 miles to find one listed on auto trader... the 350 is more or a luxury car with more bells and whistles, but the 8 cylinder 400GS is a racing car. These 300 series BMW's and such, gas it in neutral for a race and I just laugh.. the car's top end is 152 according to a car buff and was the fastest production car for it's price. BMW's, Mercedes, Audi, ect... still love driving the old car the best....

This was the tune up on the 400 gs.

UPDATE:
So after barely passing the California Smog check twice in a row I was due again this year. A couple months ago I replaced my spark plugs and wires, and last month cleaned the MAF sensor. Passed this Smog Check with flying colors.

Thanks for the update lexo98. I just had my MAF cleaned, going to change my oil, spark plugs, and air filter then go for my smog check this week. Hoping I squeak by too :ohyeah:

Ive also heard that you should go for a 30 minute drive before the test so the engine is running hot.

I plan to. I'm picking a smog shop 30-40 miles from home to make sure I drive it enough. Hopefully I can just drive up and get it done right away while the cats are nice and toasty.

Guys!!! you just need to heat up the converter and keep the engine running before your local smog tech. take it in for a smog. It's simple as that Rev it to 2500RPM for 5min. is cheating according to B.A.R, but who care if customer does it lol. only tech get citation if he does it. take my advice your NO level says it all . that the engine still not fully operating temperature. HC+O2=H2O , CO+02=CO2 , NOX =HEAT above 2,500degree F. remember one thing what goes in must come out either same way or combine with Oxygen and converted through aka CAT.
