GS300 - Who Has The Final Answer Why These Loose Power?
Allright folks. Now some of these forums on the web are nearly 20 years old and the problem goes back to the very 1st lexus models - so why o why is there not a big screaming definitive answer as to why they suddenly loose power??????? Specifically our 2003 GS300.
It's been going on since begining to at least the 2005 models and forums are full of folks asking same question - so what is it? Based on research it's not: ECU, Injectors TB, TPS, MAF, Mechanical, Injector loom, Fuel pump, Relays, any sensors that we know of, and a specific fault code never shows up - so WTF is it????
Finally got so sick of it the car has not moved in 6 months.
Come on all you so-called Lexus/Toyota Guru's & Dealership Mechs - tell us!

i wouldn't think that a very well maintained vehicle would experience so much a power loss that it would be noticeable in the seat of your pants...
that being said, things do wear out with age? over 10 years, rings can wear out which cause loss of combustion... things get dirty... i couldn't realistically expect my car to output the same exact power it did as when it rolled off the showroom floor...
what exactly are you experiencing that this is such a noticeable issue for you?

One thing I can tell you from experience is that the Oil Control Valve (OCV) for the timing system can cause this, and not throw a code. All it takes is for that joker to drag a little and it can cause this... Super easy to replace.... takes about 10 minutes. Might be worth the shot

First of all folks - we are not ametures - if you can name it we have changed/fixed/kicked it - and we have all the scanners you could wish for. Would not be on here trying to find the elusive "final solution" if we had not. Just pity as with most forums that no one ever bothers to share/give the final answer - if they ever get it - to their problem. Specifically this one.
TableSyrup. Hi. We changed the valve 3 years ago and stripped/cleaned it again last year with no noticeable difference. As you have experienced this - what in your opinion does it do when sticky that affects the ignition and why does it not "code" when it does?
