those intake runners just after the throttle bodies look like they are real restrictive for wide open performance but great for low end land yacht moving. any intake and exhaust mods in the works? if it doesn't work out you can always put the stock stuff back on. that's how I do it. lol. how but some custom one foot tall throttle bodies with velocity stacks. use a maf to map sensor converter to make it work.

Thanks man! I've pulled enough engines apart to know that those thin metal gaskets become fragile over time and like to break. But one good thing about buying an engine with such low miles is that everything is still like brand new! Everything came apart very easily with no trouble.

It literally bolts in. Toyota doesn't change a whole lot when they build chassis'. The engine is front sump so it just drops in, the amazing part is that the later generation a761e transmission bolted in too. I took the crossmember from the century off and put the original one from the 5 speed on and it all lined right up.

As I said previously, I plan on using none of the factory wiring or electronics. Now I know Megasquirt is powerful for what it is, however the simple answer is it just will not do what I want. To be honest there are few aftermarket ECUs which can provide what I need. 12 cylinders, 12 coils, VVTi, 4 knock sensors, dual wideband control, multiple electronic throttle bodies, and the usual pressure and temp sensors. On top of all of that, the ECU had to be able to control the A761e transmission, that was an important part of the project. The engine and trans had to be controlled by 1 ECU. The only ecu which I know of, that can do all the above tasks, and has enough outputs and the capability to run the trans is the Syvecs S12 ECU. Syvecs is the company the AMS guys use on their Alpha performance series. Syvecs has done tests with both the 6 and the 8 speed autos and using their software and specs have achieved a level of performance far above the factory on a stock box.
As for the wiring, Ron - from YotaConnectors.com, is building me a complete engine harness as well as a complete chassis harness for the car.
